2015-2016 Season Brings Many Accomplishments
The HHS wrestling team had an amazing season with many high notes to it. This year the team won the Spooner Invitational, had six placers at the Northern Badger Classic, finished third in the conference with a 5-3 dual meet record and two individual champions, had four sectional qualifiers including two regional champions, and had one state qualifier, sophomore 132-pounder Tim Coyne.
Deyo Sets Several Team Records in Final Season
Lane Deyo set several team records along with other accomplishments in his final season. He had 115 takedowns in a season, and compiled a win-loss record of 35-8. Overall in his career he had 114 wins, and 71 pins.
Lane is the first Hurricane Wrestler to broach 100 wins in a career, with Austin Egge (99) and Dylan Adair (98) the next closest.
2nd State Qualifier in Program's Short History
This year sophomore wrestler Tim Coyne became the second ever Hurricane wrestler to qualify for the individual state tournament.
Over Tim's first season with Hurricane High School Wrestling, he compiled a record of 30-7, set the school record for reversals at 17, was a conference and regional champ, all along with qualifying for the state tournament.
